25th anniversary of the founding of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic
Added: 22. 10. 2025On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Fire and Rescue Corps of the Czech Republic (HZS ČR), an exceptional photo exhibition is being held, offering visitors to the Slovak Technical Museum in Košice a unique perspective on the most significant interventions by Czech firefighters over the past quarter century.
The exhibition commemorates key moments of the intervention activities of the HZS ČR through authentic images - from the devastating floods in 2002, through the tornado in South Moravia in 2021, to the extensive fire in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. There are also dramatic images from the fire at the Veletržný Palace in Prague or the intervention in the fires of benzene wagons in Hustopeče nad Bečvou, where Czech firefighters were also assisted by colleagues from the Fire and Rescue Corps of the Slovak Republic (HaZZ SR) with special equipment. The photographs capture not only extraordinary events and disasters, but also the everyday commitment, courage and professionalism of Czech firefighters, who have been protecting the lives, health and property of the inhabitants of the Czech Republic for twenty-five years.
