1. 110 YEARS OF THE VIENNA TRAM In 1914, an electric local railway connected Bratislava with Vienna. The new transport connection between two important cities of the monarchy was of great interest to the population at the time, and was also a technical attraction. The interesting history of this line will be introduced to visitors of the exhibition by information panels and exhibits in the form of period artifacts, documents and models of vehicles that operated on the Vienna Tram line. During the exhibition visitors to the museum will be able to see the restored GANZ tram locomotive with the marking P.O.H.É.V. Eg 6 and the chassis of the freight car with the original marking P.O.H.É.V. Gk 202 in its original, pre-renovation condition. Exhibition duration: 11.10.2024 - 30.9.2025 |

2. TRAIN IN THE CITY The Slovak Technical Museum – Museum of Transport in Bratislava, in cooperation with the civic association Bratislava and its transformations, has prepared a new picture exhibition entitled “Train in the City” for the public. The exhibition reminds visitors of two anniversaries related to the now defunct railway lines in the capital city – the 185th anniversary of the start of operation of the first horse-drawn railway in Hungary between Bratislava and Svätý Jur (October 4, 1840) and the 40th anniversary of the cessation of passenger rail transport to the Bratislava-Filiálka station and the Bratislava-Slovany stop (July 1985).
