The STM-Museum of Transport in Bratislava will open the exhibition "ENIGMA. The Secret World of Ciphers" on May 8, 2026. Visitors will be able to see a unique exhibition that will introduce the legendary Enigma encryption machine, model M3, from the collection of the Slovak Technical Museum. The exhibition presents interesting artifacts from the field of encryption, coding, surveillance or eavesdropping, and focuses on the sub-scientific branches of cryptology - cryptography, cryptanalysis and steganography. A unique exhibit of the exhibition is the German encryption machine ENIGMA, model M3, manufactured in 1942, currently the only one in Slovakia, which the Slovak Technical Museum acquired for its collections in 2020.
The exhibition "ENIGMA. The Secret World of Ciphers", which is the work of the author duo Ing. Peter Drozd, curator of the Slovak Technical Museum and Ing. Pavol Horňák, was visited by thousands of satisfied visitors during its duration at the Slovak Technical Museum in Košice (May 2023 – February 2024). We believe that the exhibition, and especially its educational and entertaining accompanying activities, will also please visitors at the STM-Museum of Transport in Bratislava.
A meeting of journalists with the author of the exhibition, combined with a guided tour, will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the exhibition spaces of the STM-Museum of Transport in Bratislava.
