PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The acrobatic group of the Slovak Air Force "White Albatrosses" had a strong historical connection with the Košice region. During its existence, it has built a worthy reputation among foreign acrobatic groups. The project should present the history of the "White Albatrosses" and their inseparable connection with the city of Košice in an engaging visual form of the exhibition, involving multiple senses. Through modern presentation visualizations with a connection to 3D objects, virtual reality in one whole, the motto of the exhibition dedicated to aerial acrobatics in the former Czechoslovakia located in the Košice region will be fulfilled. The unusual story transformed into a modern exhibition represents a combination of timeless values, a strong marketing brand and a professional museum presentation.
The uniqueness and high-quality implementation of the project will create a synergistic effect in the form of significant interest from the media, the general public, families with children and a large community of enthusiasts of aerial acrobatics and technology. The authentic L–39 Albatros aircraft, together with the invaluable testimonies of the members of the aerobatic group and the presentation of flight training in Košice, creates great potential for an exceptional and successful presentation of cultural heritage in the form of the aerobatic group "White Albatross" and the Košice region itself.
The project sensitively complements the existing and creates a new experience offer of the Košice region and the city of Košice as a significant destination for cultural and technical tourism and a center of aviation heritage. By utilizing a strong, well-informed and connected international community of aviation fans, it provides a real prerequisite for increasing continuous interest in the destination and thus increasing the number of overnight stays in the Košice region.
The project will be implemented at the STM-Aviation Museum in Košice, which is the first aviation museum in Slovakia to be continuously open to visitors since 2002.
