2. TRAIN IN THE CITY

The Slovak Technical Museum – Museum of Transport in Bratislava, in cooperation with the civic association Bratislava and its transformations, has prepared a new picture exhibition entitled “Train in the City” for the public.

The exhibition reminds visitors of two anniversaries related to the now defunct railway lines in the capital city – the 185th anniversary of the start of operation of the first horse-drawn railway in Hungary between Bratislava and Svätý Jur (October 4, 1840) and the 40th anniversary of the cessation of passenger rail transport to the Bratislava-Filiálka station and the Bratislava-Slovany stop (July 1985).

Duration of the exhibition: 15. 05. 2025 - 15. 05. 2026

2. 125 YEARS OF SHIP BUILDING IN KOMARNO

The Slovak Technical Museum invites visitors to an exhibition entitled "125 Years of Shipbuilding in Komárno". The original exhibition with this title was presented to visitors in the New Fortress in Komárno in 2024. From December 2025, the exhibition will be presented to the public in a modified form in the premises of the Museum of Transport in Bratislava.

Picture panels with period photographs will guide visitors through the rich history of this shipbuilding enterprise from the interwar period, when the shipyard was part of the Škoda Works in Pilsen, through its significant flourishing and modernization in the period after World War II to the present day. Visitors to the exhibition will also be interested in three-dimensional exhibits, among which there will be no shortage of authentic models representing a wide range of different types of vessels that specialists from the Komárno shipyards built.

Exhibition duration: 11. 12. 2025 – 31. 5. 2026
